Home Sweet Home

June 30, 2009
Noah seems to be so happy to be back home with all his toys and his doggies.  The dogs are happy too, although our first day home Ebony discovered a nest of baby bunnies in the backyard. Not good.  R.I.P bunnies.  Grandma and Grandpa spent the night Sunday night and spent a little time with Noah and I Monday morning before heading back to their home sweet home.  Noah just adores his grandma and grandpa and was sad to say goodbye.

Everyone happy at home!

Hanging out with grandma and grandpa before they headed home.  He was saying goodbye at the glasss window….so sweet!

He is showing off the shirt mommy made him at the Children’s Museum on his bday!  It was a neat project, you make "tie-dye" looking shirts with Sharpie’s and alcohol!

We wanted to bring home a special gift for our friends, Amy and Josh, that watered our plants everyday.  Marge and I found lots of interesting shells along the beach and I found a beautiful glass dish to hold them.

Pee Pee in the Potty!

June 29, 2009
WOOHOO!  Tonight before bath I put Noah on the big boy potty and told him that if he wanted he could try and go pee pee in the potty.  He was excited to watch to see what would happen…so cute…then…it happened!  He was so excited and so was mommy!  I clapped and sang the "potty song" (I made it up, but he likes it!).  I told him he did such a great job and that we will try it again soon!  So exciting.

Sunset Beach – Day 6

June 26, 2009
Today is our last full day at the beach.  We all agree that this has been the most relaxing vacation we have had in a long time.  We have had superb weather and Noah has been such a good boy!  We have enjoyed the beach 2 times each day…our daily playtime at the beach in the the water and then our sunset walk.  Gary and I love the sunset walks because Noah loves to run around all of us and splash in the water.

Gary and Noah are napping as I write this.  Noah has blessed us with 3+ hour naps everyday!  Gary and I have had lots of great naps (which we desperately needed) and really feel refreshed.  We have had fun playing games with Grandma and Grandpa in the evenings.  Gary and I did a little souvenir shopping today.  I got some really beautiful shell decorations to hang in our house.

Tonight we will take our last sunset beach walk, and then come home to start the packing process.  We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends in Jan and Ray Meadows.  They were so generous in letting us stay at their beautiful beach condo.  Thank you so much you two for providing us with a perfect beach vacation and making Noah’s 2nd birthday so special.  Red heart

Sunset Beach – Day 5

June 26, 2009
We could not have ordered up better weather this week.  We had another perfectly beautiful bright sunny day.  We spent the morning at the beach.  We all did a little boogie boarding, except Noah, he spent the morning digging in the sand.  He just loves to dig in the sand!  He especially loves when mommy and daddy build big sand castles and hills and he gets to destroy them.  He is getting so brave in the water.  He runs right into the waves and likes to lay in the water and let the waves wash over him.

Don’t you just love the sunglasses?  They only stayed on long enough for a picture!

Grandma and Grandpa caught some waves!  Here they are patiently waiting for the perfect wave….

After a fun day at the beach, our little man was tired out!  In fact, we all were…mommy and daddy have enjoyed a 3+ hour nap almost everyday with Noah!

We went for ice cream after dinner.  YUM!  Noah loved the player piano and even did a little dancing with Grandma.

Then we headed to the beach for a sunset walk.  It was a beautiful night and Noah has so much fun playing in the water in the evenings.

Here are some pics of the beauty of the beach at sunset!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOAH! Sunset Beach – Day 4

June 25, 2009
Today was such a wonderful day!  Happy Birthday to our precious little man!  He hit the big 2 today.  We had a fun filled day.  First, we opened some presents from daddy, mommy and grandma and grandpa.  He was excited to get a Thomas train engine, a fishing game, some books, and a Thomas train holder.

Opening and playing with his bday gifts

Our first stop was the Children’s Museum of South Carolina.  It was a very fun place full of great things for little ones to do.  Grandma, Grandpa and mommy made this special sign for Noah!

Mommy had fun doing an art project.  For $5 you could buy a shirt and "tie dye" different designs on it with Sharpie markers and alcohal.  It was so fun!  I think his shirt turned out pretty awesome!

Mommy and daddy had fun at the Children’s Museum too!

Our next stop was lunch at Fuddrucker’s.  Yum!  Noah ate 2 whole hot dogs for lunch and had a special birthday cookie!

Next stop was Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach.  It is a huge outdoor shopping, playing, and dining area.  It has tons of tourist shops, lots of restaurants and sweets places, and some fun kiddie rides that Noah loved!  He rode the Ferris Wheel, Carosel, Train, and the Race Cars.  His favorite ride seemed to be the cars, he rode on them several times!  When we arrived at Broadway at the Beach Noah was sleeping, so while he napped with daddy the rest of us shopped.

I wandered off to do a little window shopping and took some fun pictures!  I found an awesome T-shirt shop with some funny shirts…

I also found the most incredible candy store!  It was HUGE.  Here are some pictures of their enormous jaw breakers, a sandcastle made out of Jelly Bellies, and the biggest selection of colored M&M’s that I have ever seen!

Noah woke up from his little nap and we headed to the toy store first.  He was mesmerized by the train table, as usual.  He also explored some other things with daddy and grandpa.

Next was the best part of the day….carnival rides!  Noah loved the cars….and didn’t care too much for the ferris wheel ride with mommy.  He had a death grip on my shirt the entire time.

Located in the water around the Broadway at the Beach are these CRAZY huge fish.  There is fish food in these dispensers all along the boardwalk and you can get a handful of food for 25 cents.  As soon as the fish see you standing near the food dispenser they come swimming and begging right below you.  It is crazy!!!  These fish are HUGE!

Off we went to dinner at a restaurant that was right on the ocean.  We sat outside and had a beautiful view!

After dinner we changed Noah into his swimsuit and let him run along the beach.  Mommy and Grandma collected lots of seashells.  Noah has become a regular daredevil at the beach…running into the waves and splashing around!

Along the beach we found a sandcastle that someone had left.  The "Noahzilla" leveled the sandcastle in mere seconds!

After a fun filled day….our sweet little boy was more than ready for bed.  Happy Birthday angel.  We love you more than anything.

Sunset Beach – Day 3

June 24, 2009
Just another day in paradise!  We spent this morning at the beach.  We played in the waves, built sand mountains for Noah to climb, walked in the sand, and Noah played in his pool.  Yep, a pool at the beach.  We took his blow up pool down to the beach and filled it with sea water.  He had lots of water toys to play with and seemed to enjoy his own little bit of the ocean!  Gary and I enjoyed some boogie boarding.  The water is incredibly warm and we have been blessed with beautiful sunny skies.

We came home, had some lunch, and mommy and Noah took a nice long nap.  We had a strange mishap with our car yesterday (the power windows wouldn’t open) so Gary and Grandpa went to get a new fuse.  After our long nap we played a little ladder ball and took a beautiful sunset walk on the beach.

Here is the view out the back of the condo.

Here is a picture of the bridge we cross to get to the beach.  It crosses the Intracoastal Water Way.

Noah’s favorite chair at the condo!  It is just the perfect size for him!

This is the boardwalk to get to the beach.  It is so beautiful!

We found this on the beach….nope, we didn’t build it.

Our sunset walk on the beach.  Noah had so much fun exploring crab holes!

Some pics to show the beauty of the beach….

Noah has been a tuckered out little guy after all the beach action the last few days.  He has enjoyed a lot of snuggle time with daddy..

I love the little feet prints in the sand!  So precious.

Sunset Beach – Day 2

June 23, 2009
We had another beautiful day at the beach.  We headed out a little earlier today and made it to the beach before it was too crowded, and before it was really hot.  We had perfect blue skies and lots of uncrowded beach to play on.  Noah enjoyed digging holes, sitting in the holes, running after his beach ball, splashing in the water, and jumping on a "trying to rest" grandpa!  He is getting more and more brave with the water and will go out to about knee high.  He has come up with a new "water exercise" we like to call "the ostrich" where he bends over and puts his head in the water and sand.  Very strange, but funny to watch!  Here are some pics…

Before we left for the beach he wanted to run around in his beach hat and swim diaper.  I think he looks like some sort of Chippendale dancer.  I’m not sure what this means for his future.

Another beautiful day at the beach!

Gary was showing his mom how to boogie board!

The cutest little guy on the beach!

He wanted to do a little boogie boarding of his own!

After dinner we went back to the beach for a little sunset walk.  The tide was really high so we all spashed around in the water.  Near the end of the walk Noah was getting tired and wanted to snuggle with daddy.

Sunset Beach – Day 1 and Father’s Day

June 22, 2009
Well, we made it safe and sound to Sunset Beach.  We left our house yesterday morning with plans of stopping somewhere half way for an overnight hotel stay.  After driving for about 6-7 hours it was only around 3PM and Noah was being a wonderful traveler so we all decided to press on and just keep going to get there.  We drove about 11-12 hours in all and we were more than ready to get out of the car when we finally arrived at Sunset Beach!  I must say that Noah was a champ and hardly made a peep the entire trip.  He watched the movie Cars (thank you Bridgett) at least twice and Finding Nemo a couple times.  We did make a few stops for bathroom and stretching breaks and for some lunch and dinner.  We were thrilled to arrive at our friends beautiful condo.  Noah was so excited to explore everything and ran around like a wild man!  We got him to bed around 10PM and he fell asleep in record time…..so did his mommy and daddy!

We stopped along the way for lunch at Tamarack in West Virginia.  Noah wanted to hold his own lunch tray!  He was ready for some lunch.  They had a little kid’s play area which was great for getting his energy out before we did some more driving!

Today was our first full day at the beach.  We were so excited to see how Noah would do at the beach.  He loved the sand!  He had tons of fun digging holes and making small "pools" where he could splash and sit.  He didn’t seem to be too scared of the water, although I pushed him a little too much and took him out too far.  He got scared and started crying.  He likes to be about ankle deep and splash.  He had fun running around with Grandpa and Grandma and playing frisbee with daddy.  Praise the Lord for NO sunburns today.  It was so hot today here.

Noah and mommy and daddy took a WONDERFUL 4 hour nap after our day at the beach!  Thank you Noah!!

We had a nice dinner at Ella’s in Calabash (about 15 mins from our condo).  It was very good.  Then we went back to the beach for a little evening walk.  Noah was getting braver with the water and had fun running around and splashing in the high tide.  We saw a few labs on our walk, one that looked just like Daisy and one that Noah thought was Ebony.

Here are some pics around the condo today, it is so bright and cheery!  Noah loves the round table in the living room, it’s his favorite place to drive his choo choo and cars!

FATHER’S DAY!!!  We actually opened Father’s Day gifts at our house yesterday so we wouldn’t have to pack them.  Happy Father’s Day daddy, we love you so much!!

Gary’s dad got his gifts too.  The red bird feeder was a little project Noah and I made.  The whole thing is made out of different duct parts (for your house)!  Noah and roamed the aisles of Home Depot to find parts that would go well together and then I super glued them together, spray painted them all red, and added some twine for hanging!  I think it turned out awesome!

My how time flies!

June 19, 2009
Since Noah’s 2nd birthday is this week, I thought I would take a look back.  Look how time flies…..it’s just going way too fast!
We love you so much little guy and are so blessed to have been chosen as your parents.  Happy 2nd birthday!  You are the light of our lives! Red heart

Beach…here we come!

June 19, 2009
We are leaving for our beach vacation on Saturday and can’t wait!  It will be so much fun to see Noah at the beach for the first time.  We got him a "wet suit" sort of suit for his time at the beach.  It has SPF 50 already in it, and covers more than a regular suit.  He tried it on today….how cute is this??!!  He looks like a little surfer kid!

He decided to wear mommy’s shoes today!  He actually made it down the back stairs in them!
