Happy 5 Months Noah!

November 30, 2007

Noah is 5 months old!  Where has the time gone?  Every month Gary and I are amazed at the changes we see in him.   Some changes we have noticed….

Lately he has started loving his pacifier.  You will notice in all the pictures that it is always in his mouth!  He is soooo cute when he sucks on it and looks at you with his big blue eyes.  He is getting really strong and loves bouncing up and down in his play gym.  He is rolling from his back to his tummy now…although he gets stuck on his tummy and gets frustrated.  He is sleeping well and loves snuggling with mommy and daddy.  At night he sleeps between us and loves to look to each side to made sure we are both there!  He loves to sit with daddy at night and read books.  He laughs really loud when mommy tickles his tummy and feet.  He has discovered his vocal cords and makes lots of funny noises.  He is trying to sit up by himself…he really wants to play sitting up but I think we are awhile from doing this….of course he could surprise me!  He really loves music, all types of music.  He sits so quiety through the music at church and loves when mommy turns on the radio and plays Christmas music.

Unfortunately, I think he is getting his first cold.  He has been coughing since last night and has a stuffy nose.  Poor little guy.  Hopefully it won’t get too bad for him.  Tongue out

Noah and mommy went on a mall adventure today to look at Christmas decorations.  He really enjoys going to the mall and looking at all the lights, colors, and getting loved on by all the cosmetic counter ladies!  Of course the Christmas decorations are so pretty and sparkly and he loves looking at the lights on the trees.  Here are some pics from our adventure….

Our little STINKER!

November 29, 2007
Confused  Let me preface these pics with a warning.  If your eating any sort of meal…you might want to hold off on the pics for now.  Poor little Noah had not pooped in 4 days and mommy and daddy were starting to get concerned.  I actually called the pediatrician today to see if there was a need to worry and what we could do.  After getting off the phone with the nurse I went in to get Noah out of the bassinet to find this!  I didn’t even care about the mess because I was so happy that he pooped!  I didn’t even know where to begin to clean him up….so I ran the bath and just put him in!

November 27, 2007
Today was Grandpa’s last day to visit with mommy and Noah.  It was cold outside so we couldn’t do much outside…off we went to the mall to see the Christmas decorations.  Mommy and Grandpa enjoyed a Starbucks break and Noah had fun looking at the lights and playing with lots of different things such as….

Some strange pink squishy ball….

We went to the kid’s resale store and Grandpa was kind enough to buy Noah some new clothes and some fun toys!  The toys will be great when Noah is finally sitting up all by himself!  Hey Lesley….does the red monkey with blue shoes look familiar!  I couldn’t believe they had the same toy so of course we had to get it!

Amish Country Visit

November 25, 2007
Auto Today we took a road trip with Grandpa (Aubre’s dad) to visit Ohio’s Amish country.  We drove to the city of Berlin, Ohio to visit the many shops.  We were excited to see the Amish in their beautiful horse and buggies as soon as we started getting close to town.  Our first stop was an awesome store called Lehman’s.  It was HUGE!  We got inside and it was filled with so much we didn’t know where to begin.  Noah and daddy headed to the toy section, mommy browsed the cookie cutters in the kitchen section (they had every design you could ever imagine) and Grandpa was in the tool section (not a surprise!).  We all wandered around for quite some time and ended up buying some stocking stuffers for family and a few things for ourselves!  Mommy was excited to get a handmade wooden spoon for cooking and some unique cookie cutters for Christmas, Grandpa bought some hard candies, and daddy and Noah just played with the toys in the toy section (the beauty of having a little one that can’t ask for toys!).  Grandpa was nice enough to buy us all lunch at a yummy cafe in the store.

Next, we went to little town of Berlin, Ohio to walk the main street.  All of the shops were so beautifully decorated for Christmas!  We were again excited to see many of the Amish in their horse and buggies.  I took some pictures but didn’t want to be intrusive so I stopped with a couple.  The buggies were surprisingly shielded from the elements.  Most were enclosed fully and had windshields (the Amish called them "storm shields").  The horses pulling the buggies looked like they were in superb condition.  I’m sure they are well taken care of.  We walked the main street and visited many of the stores buying more stocking stuffers.  We stopped at a coffee shop for a drink break for all of us…including Noah! Wink  Most of the stores had a country decor feeling and many were filled with handmade Amish furniture and other crafts.

It started getting dark and we decided we better start heading for home.  We had about a 1.5 hour drive home and we were hoping Noah would sleep all the way home.  He was such a good boy all day…he was awake most of the day and was busy taking everything in!  He hardly made a peep all day and was happy and smiling most of the time…that was until he had to get in his carseat to head home.  He was very overtired and cried most of the way home…poor baby!  We made it home safely (thank you Daddy) and got Noah to bed.   We had a very fun and busy day!

Thanks dad!!
