Day Trip

June 30, 2008
Auto  We took a day trip to Amish country with my mom this past weekend.   Amish country is about 2 hours away and is such a fun place to visit.  We first went to Lehman’s Old Time General Store and then to the city of Berlin, OH to walk down "Main Street" that is full of antique and speciality shops.  My mom had a great time visiting all the shops and seeing the Amish people.  It was a really fun day for all of us.

Here are a couple of the Amish buggies that you see all over once you arrive in the Amish country.  Some are covered and some are open.

There was a toy train that ran along a raised track in the General Store.  Noah loved watching the train go round and round.

House FULL!

June 29, 2008
Boy Girl Boy Girl We have had a house full of visitors this past week!  We had Aubre’s mom visit and then Aubre’s sister and her family came for an improptu visit from St. Louis!  Aubre’s family..Erica, Scott, Jordan, Maddy, and little Faith drove all the way from St. Louis for a visit! Auto  This is the first time Auntie Erica has seen Noah and she has had a fun time holding him and watching him crawl around.  Noah’s cousins have had a fun time babying little Noah…holding him, feeding him, playing with him, and swimming with him.  Noah has enjoyed all the attention and playmates.   They will be leaving tomorrow to go home…we will miss the extra playmates!

Noah trying whole milk for the first time….he doesn’t love it, but he’s trying.

Busy Night

June 26, 2008
Surprised  Last night around 11:30 I was awakened by the tornado sirens going off.  It took me a minute to realize what was happening.  I jumped out of bed and turned on the news to find the weather people talking about tornado wall clouds being seen about 20 mins from our house.  Scary!  So I woke up Gary and told him what was going on and we decided it would be a good idea to head to the basement.  I woke up my mom and we grabbed some water, flashlights and Noah’s carseat and headed to the basement with the very scared doggies (well Daisy wasn’t too scared but Ebony gets terrified of storms!).  We sat on the couch for a little bit and waited until the threat was gone.  Back to bed we went….Noah did quite well going back to bed after being abruptly awakened!  The news this morning didn’t report any touch downs of tornados but there are almost 12,000 people without power from the winds, hail and rain (luckily we are not one of those without power).   We thank the Lord for keeping us safe and sound.  I bet my mom is ready to head back to the boring desert!  Airplane

ONE YEAR AGO….

Birthday cakeHAPPY BIRTHDAY NOAH!!!  WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!Birthday cake

Today is Noah’s actual birthday.  We had his party on Sunday since Tuesday isn’t a really good party day for most people.  Today though is  a very very special day.  Once year ago at 12:13 PM our little angel was brought into this world.  Our lives have changed in so many ways and we are thankful that God chose us to be Noah’s parents.

Swim Class

June 24, 2008
Noah’s Tiny Tots swim class started Monday.  The class is everyday for 1/2 and hour for two weeks.  It is at our local community center and is supposed to get him used to the water.  He already loves the water so I thought it would just be a fun opportunity to splash around with other little ones and see some new sights.  Since Grandma, Grandpa and Grammie (Aubre’s mom) were in town they all went to see the first class!  Noah had a very fun time, especially in the lazy river!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOAH!!

June 24, 2008
Birthday cake  We had a fantastic time at Noah’s birthday party this past Sunday!  We had a great time with family and friends…and Noah enjoyed watching Noah making a mess of his cake and riding in his fancy new car!  My mom got into town Saturday night and we were so excited to be able to have her here to celebrate Noah’s big day.  We had about 20 people show up for the party (we had the party at our community pool house) most were neighbors that just love Noah.  Noah was showered with wonderful gifts (thank you everyone for being so generous) and had such a fun time ripping and eating the wrapping paper!

Decorating the room….thank you mom and Gary’s mom for the extra help!

Another day of “trash!”

June 20, 2008
Today was trash day again!  I found so much today that I had to take some home and go get more!  Open-mouthed

Look familiar?  I found a sandbox exactly like this in the Tuesday trash!  I sold this in less than 15 mins for $20..and the lady picked it up even before it had a chance to dry after I washed it!

Random stuff

June 18, 2008
I have been busy around here getting all the last minute preparations for Noah’s birthday party Birthday cake.  It is going to be such a fun day and we can’t wait to celebrate with all our friends and family.  Aubre’s mom comes into town Saturday afternoon and Gary’s parents get into town Sunday.  I should be a fun filled household!

StarWe are excited that Gary’s sister Dawn, and her husband John, finally sold their house this past week!  It has been on the market for quite a long time.  We are so happy to be having them move a bit closer to us!

Noah’s new favorite food is pizza.  Yep, pizza.  Pizza  He would eat it at every meal if we would let him.  In fact some days he will turn everything down except pizza.  So, mommy got smart and sneaky.  I make him pizza at home so I know what is going into it and decided to mix in some spinash and carrot puree into the sauce!  I mixed in about a quarter cup of each spinach and carrots to the tomato sauce and watched wih anticipation as tried it.  He proceeded to gulp it down with gusto!  YAY!  Now I don’t mind him eating pizza all the time!

Here’s my sneaky pizza!

This is cute.  We walked down to go swimming at our neighborhood pool the other day and Noah pooped himself out and fell asleep in his stroller on the way home.  He slept like this in his dripping wet swim shorts for an hour!

SunIt was a beautiful day out today so Noah and I took a bicycle grocery store ride.  This time was much less eventful than last time.  I learned from my last ride and didn’t have any grocery spilling episodes.  We stopped at the park on the way home so Noah could do a little swinging.

Money  I think today was my best "trash" sale day ever.  I made $90 in ONE day selling the "trash" I found this week!  I just love that.  I can’t wait for Friday so I can go find some more good stuff!

Today’s “trash” finds!

June 17, 2008
It was a really successsful day today…it actually started last night as Gary and I took Noah on a bike ride we found lots of great stuff at the curb!  After we got home from our bike ride I got in the car and headed back out to pick the stuff up!  Here is some of what I got today and last night!

Here is my best find!  It was filthy and I really had to put some elbow grease into it but it turned out great!
I actually got lost going to get something else I saw and found this! (sold this already in under 5 mins!)
